Mobile Television?
A couple of days ago I attended an IPAN seminar about mobile television, including a panel discussion in which both believers and non-believers took the stand. To my own surpise, I sided with the non-believers. It's not that I wouldn't be interested in mobile television myself, au contraire, it's just that I seem to have lost faith in (at least the dutch) average consumer who is unwilling to change his daily routines and more importantly, unwilling to consistently pay for content that's otherwise available for free.
Besides, something that was missing from Vodafone's presentation is a solid revenue model for the content providers. There seems to be a conflict in interests between the consumer, the content provider and the network operator where the consumer wants everything for free while both network operator and content providers need the dough to generate revenues out of their investments.
